How much does HVAC replacement cost?

Begin with the AC replacement guide or furnace guide, then compare the planning range with your state estimate. A larger or more efficient system can cost more, but difficult access, duct defects, electrical changes, and permit scope also move the number. A contractor should inspect the home before giving a final quote.

Should I repair or replace?

Repair is often reasonable when the system is relatively young and the fault is isolated. Ask for the failed part, the repair warranty, and whether the quoted repair addresses the symptom's cause. Compare replacement when breakdowns repeat, a major component fails, parts are difficult to obtain, or the system no longer keeps the home comfortable.

What makes HVAC quotes different?

Two quotes can look far apart because one includes a matching coil, new controls, permits, haul-away, duct changes, or commissioning and the other does not. Put the scopes side by side. If an item is missing, ask whether it is excluded, unnecessary, or simply not yet inspected.

What should I do before the appointment?
