Why home repair prices vary so much across the United States

The same repair can cost very differently two counties apart because the job, labor market, and home itself are different. A range is a planning tool—not a promise.

Why the market changes the quote

Labor availability, travel time, permit requirements, seasonal demand, and local material supply all change what a contractor needs to charge. A July air-conditioning failure in a hot market or a frozen-pipe emergency during a cold spell is not priced like a scheduled weekday visit.
